Taken from this angle the image is contextually singular. The object is the picture and the picture is the object. There are no competing elements such that the textures of the log's surface became all important. I don't know which image I like better. This one reminds me of those "Zen" sand gardens.
Had I not seen the second picture, I would not have known this was a tree stump. Very cool, you could actually count the circles and determine the age of the tree.

ReplyDeleteOh I can't choose which one I like better either! I think I am all about textures lately so I like the top one. But the composition in the second one is really good too!
